In 2010 a client who’s house we refurbished back in 2007 commissioned us to design and manufacture three pieces of furniture, one of which being a desk for their home office. The brief was to replace an antique desk which had been in the family for generations. The desk needed to meet today requirements with cable and power access whilst at the same time still offer a sense of luxury and timelessness. So we used the leather work surface and warm wood colour of the Regency style desk as an inspiration.

With the client we explored a number of approaches, materials and dimensions. The end result was a solid walnut construction with a strong wood grain which runs around the perimeter. Internally we used very light maple wood to create a strong contrast. The leather top was inserted and offers a very comfortable flush surface to work on.
